I am most grateful to you for according me an interview on Monday last in which I was able to bring forward matters relative to Hong Kong.

I did not relise that I would have an opportunity of dis- cussing the more general question of the V.D. problem in Hong ong and, therefore, only brought with me the particulars re- lative to the Po Leung Kuk.

There was one point I think I did not make claar. asked whether we had left organised, any body that could carry on the work begun by the Commission. We had taken steps to form a Hong Kong Council for Combating Venereal Disease on which the Bishop of Hong Kong, the Assistant Harbour Master, the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the representative of the Y.M.C.A., Kiss Pitts, Head of the Seamen's Institute, the Catholic Bishop of Hong Kong, the Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, Dr.Hickling a British woman doctor, and various others had consented to serve as members of such a voluntary organisations, and had all been called together for the purpose.of forming themselves into a properly [constituted body the day before the Commission left. morning of that day we had had our interview with the Governor.

In the In this interview Sir Reginald Stubbs expressed a wish that no voluntary organisation should be formed but on the other hand he would appoint a small official committee consisting of the Colonial Secretary, the Principal Civil Medical Officer and the Director of Education to take charge of propaganda material and to deal with the whole problem and that any voluntary organisation wishing to organise propaganda would receive cooperation and assistance from this body.

We have not heard whether this organisation has been appointed but we do know that no additional supplies of propaganda material
